C.I.Solvent Red 169 is a deep-red organic dye, which is soluble in water and other organic solvents. The dye has a high resistance to chemical stability, and is available as an additive for plastics, paints, textiles, paper and rubber. C.I.Solvent Red 169 has been used as a colorant in devices such as digital cameras, DVD players and LCD screens due to its hydrophobic nature and low cost. The dye can be found in polymeric matrices that are resistant to volatilization or degradation by air or light exposure. It is also used as a colorant for surfactants such as soap bars or detergents due to its large molecular size and hydrophobicity properties that make it insoluble in water.br>br>
C.I.Solvent Red 169 is not approved for use on the skin because of its high sensitivity to sunlight exposure; however, it is approved for use in food products
