Sulfamic acid is a sulfonamide that can be used as an industrial coagulant. It is also used to stabilize metal ions and can be used in the treatment of wastewater. Sulfamic acid has a chelate ring structure, which binds to metals such as iron and aluminum, making them insoluble. This prevents the metals from entering the environment, which is why it is often used in environmental pollution control.
