• Beschreibung: Succinyl-L-proline is a synthetic substrate for carboxypeptidase and other enzymes that catalyzes the hydrolysis of ester bonds. It is a bioactive molecule that has been shown to promote the growth of haematopoietic stem cells in vitro. Succinyl-L-proline has also been shown to lower blood pressure, although it does not have significant effects on serum creatinine levels. The high specificity of succinyl-L-proline makes it a useful substrate for determining the activity of carboxypeptidases, such as carboxypeptidase A and B. Succinyl-L-proline is an isomer of captopril (a drug used to treat hypertension), but it does not cause the side effects associated with captopril, such as myopathy or hyperkalemia.
