Beschreibung:
Sodium tetrachloroaurate (III) dihydrate is a synthetic compound that has been shown to inhibit the growth of various bacterial species, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli. It also has cytotoxic properties against prostate cancer cells in vitro. This compound is used as an oxidizing agent in organic synthesis and as a reagent for the preparation of other compounds with peroxidase-like activity. Sodium tetrachloroaurate (III) dihydrate has been used in preparative methods, such as the Wurtz reaction. This chemical may be spontaneously oxidized in air or water to form chlorous acid.
