Beschreibung

Sodium 2,2,3,3-tetrafluoropropionate is a chemical pesticide that is used as an insecticide. It inhibits the growth of plants by interfering with the synthesis of chlorophyll and other photosynthetic pigments. The inhibition of the plant's ability to produce oxygen leads to death. This chemical also has a strong inhibitory effect on epidermal growth in mammals and may be carcinogenic. Sodium 2,2,3,3-tetrafluoropropionate is also used in analytical chemistry for determination of water vapor content in air or liquid samples. This compound is stable at room temperature but decomposes when heated to 150°C.
