Beschreibung

Sodium pentafluoropropionate is a vinyl ether that can be synthesized from n-oxide, ethyl group, and chlorine atom. It has been shown to be an effective pesticide for the control of insects. The biological properties of this compound are not well understood, but it has been shown to have antidepressant effects in rats. This chemical also binds to the 5-HT2C receptor in the brain and has been shown to have antipsychotic effects in animals. Sodium pentafluoropropionate has also been shown to have a bond cleavage activity by reacting with hydrogen peroxide and ozone.
