• Beschreibung: Trichloromethyl isocyanate (TCI) is a cationic initiator that polymerizes with aliphatic hydrocarbons to form polyurethanes. It is reactive and can be used as a polymerization initiator in the production of polyurethane foams. TCI is also used to chlorinate organic compounds, such as erythromycin derivatives, which are then used in the synthesis of other drugs. TCI reacts with hydroxyl groups on aromatic hydrocarbons to form esters. TCI also binds to thrombin receptors on human platelets and has been shown to inhibit fibrinogen activation by thrombin.
