Produktinformation
- 8-Amino-5,6,7,8-Tetrahydroquinoline
- 8-Quinolinamine, 5,6,7,8-Tetrahydro-
5,6,7,8-Tetrahydroquinolin-8-amine is an enamine that is a ligand for the catalytic site of alcohol dehydrogenase. It can also be used to catalyze the conversion of aldehydes to alcohols. 5,6,7,8-Tetrahydroquinolin-8-amine has been shown to inhibit the activity of chiral lipases and has been used as a catalyst in asymmetric transfer hydrogenation reactions. 5,6,7,8-tetrahydroquinolin-8-amine spontaneously forms an imine intermediate when it reacts with amines or ammonia in basic solution. This imine intermediate can be converted into a variety of products by adding appropriate nucleophiles such as triphenylphosphines or water. The nature of this reaction is spontaneous and requires no external energy input.
