• Beschreibung: 2,3,4-Trichlorobenzoic acid is an alkanoic acid that is used as a plant growth regulator. It is also used for the treatment of cardiac hypertrophy. The magnesium salt of 2,3,4-trichlorobenzoic acid can be prepared by adding magnesium chloride to a solution of the acid in ethanol. This compound has been shown to inhibit the 5HT4 receptor and may be useful for treating depression and anxiety. 2,3,4-Trichlorobenzoic acid has been shown to prevent nitrate from converting into nitrite in soil through thermally induced metathesis reactions. This reaction prevents nitrate from being converted into nitrogen oxides (NOx) during combustion or other high temperature processes. 2,3,4-Trichlorobenzoic acid is also known to have pesticidal activity against insects and nematodes.
