Beschreibung

1,1,3-Tris(2-methyl-4-hydroxy-5-tert-butylphenyl)butane is a fatty acid that belongs to the class of antimicrobial agents. It has been shown to bind to calcium and inhibit the growth of bacteria by interfering with the formation of their cell membranes. 1,1,3-Tris(2-methyl-4-hydroxy-5-tert-butylphenyl)butane has also been shown to reduce systolic blood pressure in diabetic patients. This active form binds to monoclonal antibodies and may be used for the treatment of asthma or other respiratory diseases. 1,1,3-Tris(2-methyl-4-hydroxy-5 -tert butylphenyl)butane is also an important component of self lubricating polymers that are used in many applications including transmission gears and bearings.
