Beschreibung

Tramadol is a non-narcotic analgesic that is used to treat severe and chronic pain. It binds to the mu-opioid receptors in the brain, which reduces the perception of pain. Tramadol is a prodrug that is metabolized into active metabolites by liver enzymes. The inactive form of tramadol, which has no therapeutic effect, is called cis-tramadol. Tramadol can be taken orally or intravenously, but its bioavailability is low due to extensive first-pass metabolism in the liver. Cis-Tramadol HCl has been shown to have an excellent analgesic effect in animal tests. This drug also has a kinetic profile suitable for use as an anti-inflammatory agent.
