• Beschreibung: Topramezone is a herbicide that inhibits photosynthetic activity in plants. It is used to control weeds and grasses in agricultural crops, as well as on turf and other non-crop areas. Topramezone is applied to the leaves of plants either by spraying or by drenching (immersing the plant's roots). It is usually applied to the soil before planting or sowing. Topramezone binds to iron in a superparamagnetic form, which is then extracted by dispersive solid-phase extraction. The reaction solution is hydrolysed with hydrochloric acid and the topamezone concentration determined with fluorescence measurement. The LC-MS/MS method has been used for the determination of topamezone concentrations in water, soil, and leaf samples from treated plants. The synergistic effect may be due to its ability to inhibit DNA synthesis and protein synthesis at high doses, but not low doses.
