Beschreibung

Trimethylsilyl acetate is a model system for studying the effect of coatings on particle size and dissolution. Trimethylsilyl acetate is used to prepare polymer films that are applied to surfaces during the manufacturing process. It is also used in coatings and as a solvent in analytical chemistry. Trimethylsilyl acetate is an acidic chemical, with a pH of 1-2. Trimethylsilyl acetate can be metabolized by the body, leading to metabolic disorders such as diabetes mellitus and hypoglycemia. The isolated yield of trimethylsilyl acetate is approximately 50%. Trimethylsilyl acetate can be converted into trifluoroacetic acid through hydrochloric acid or chromatographically purified using chromatographic science.
