Beschreibung

Tandospirone is a drug that belongs to the class of drugs called atypical antipsychotics. It has been shown to have clinical properties that are different from those of typical antipsychotics, such as dopamine receptor blockade, serotonin receptor blockade, and unique effects on brain energy metabolism. Tandospirone has been used in the pharmacological treatment of schizophrenia as an adjunct to other drugs. It has also been studied for its potential use in combination therapy with sodium carbonate as a treatment for symptoms associated with Parkinson's disease due to its ability to increase extracellular concentrations of dopamine. Tandospirone has high resistance rates among 5-HT1 receptors and 5-HT2 receptors. These receptors may be responsible for tandospirone’s effects on locomotor activity and anxiety-related behaviors in mice.
