2,4,6,8-Tetrachloropyrimido[5,4-d]pyrimidine is a pyrimidine compound that has been shown to inhibit amine oxidase. The pharmacokinetic properties of this drug have been studied in rats and dogs. It was found that the plasma levels of 2,4,6,8-tetrachloropyrimido[5,4-d]pyrimidine are proportional to the dose given. This drug is metabolized by hydrolysis in the liver to an inactive form that is excreted through urine.
