• Beschreibung: Tetrabutylammonium fluoride is a hydrogen fluoride compound that is used as a reagent in organic synthesis. It can be synthesized from glycol ethers and hydrogen fluoride, although the reaction solution is usually corrosive and toxic. Tetrabutylammonium fluoride also reacts with copper chloride to form tetrabutylammonium chloride. This compound has been shown to have an electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) response at frequencies of 10-100 Hz due to its electron-donating properties. Tetrabutylammonium fluoride has been used as a catalyst for the synthesis of glycoside derivatives, sodium salts, and basic structures. The hydrophobic effect may be partially responsible for this type of activity. Tetrabutylammonium fluoride has also been shown to inhibit fatty acid oxidation, leading to metabolic disorders in rats.
