It also inhibits glucose monitoring by interfering with the binding of glucose to the G protein. 5,5,5-Trifluoro-DL-leucine also has structural properties that are similar to those of 2,3,-dihydrobenzofuran (DHF). This similarity may account for its ability to denature proteins.
