2,4,5,7-Tetranitro-9-fluorenone is a nitroaromatic compound that is used as a fluorophore. It emits light when exposed to radiation and has high values for activation energies. The nmr spectra of 2,4,5,7-tetranitro-9-fluorenone indicate that it has a carbonyl group and a molecule with an irreversible inhibition. 2,4,5,7-Tetranitro-9-fluorenone is carcinogenic and can cause cancer in humans if inhaled or ingested.
