Beschreibung

3-Tolylboronic acid is a boronic acid that can be used in the synthesis of β-unsaturated ketones. It has been shown to react with styrene and phenylalanine to form 3-tolylboronates, which are monomers for polymers. The cross-coupling reaction between 3-tolylboronic acid and Grignard reagent is an important application in organic synthesis. 3-Tolylboronic acid has been postulated to have tumor cell growth inhibition properties due to its structural analysis, but this has not been confirmed yet.
