Beschreibung

2,4,6-Trimethylphenylacetic acid is a sterically demanding compound that interacts with metal ions in wastewater to produce ester compounds. The oxidation of 2,4,6-trimethylphenylacetic acid has been shown to produce reactive oxygen species and carbonyl groups. This process can then be catalyzed by an acid catalyst to generate the degenerative disease metabolites 2-hydroxy-4,6-dimethylphenol and 3-methyl-2H-pyridinium chloride.
