Beschreibung

Triisopentylamine is an aromatic hydrocarbon that is reversibly soluble in liquid and gas phases. It has a high frequency shift and a low sensitivity index, so it is suitable for use with the particle technique. Triisopentylamine can be isolated by reacting it with hydrochloric acid, which yields sulfonic acids as a by-product. This compound is reactive and has been shown to undergo electrophilic substitution reactions with hydroxyl groups on the surface of silica gel particles. It also reacts with alkynyl groups to form acetamides. Aliphatic hydrocarbons are amines that have only one carbon atom and two hydrogen atoms per molecule; they are often used as solvents or reactants in organic synthesis.
