Beschreibung:
1-(Thiophen-2-yl)heptan-1-one is a reagent that is used in the synthesis of fatty acids. It has been found to be an effective desulfurization agent, and can be used as a synthetic intermediate for the production of drugs, pesticides, and other chemicals. This compound has also been shown to have metabolic profiles that are orthogonal to those of endogenous fatty acids. 1-(Thiophen-2-yl)heptan-1-one is a grignard reagent that can be used for alkylation reactions and ionisation mass fingerprinting.
