This compound has been shown to inhibit colitis in mice by binding to the 5-HT3 receptor and inhibiting calcium ion influx. It also inhibits deuterolysis and catalysis in cells at high concentrations. Research on this drug has shown that it can be used as an endogenous ligand for the 5-HT3 receptor, but its activity is not as potent as when it is used as a ligand.
