Beschreibung

3-[(Tris(hydroxymethyl)methyl)amino]-1-propanesulfonic acid is a diagnostic agent that is used to detect the presence of monoclonal antibodies in human blood. It can be used for diagnosis of autoimmune disorders, such as rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus, by detecting specific antibodies. 3-[(Tris(hydroxymethyl)methyl)amino]-1-propanesulfonic acid binds to the light-exposed areas of cells with high concentrations of creatine kinase, which are indicative of tissue damage. The antibody-antigen complex is then detected using laser ablation. This procedure can be done on cells from the uterus or other tissues to diagnose chronic exposure to certain substances.
