Beschreibung

Trimethyl-3-[(1-oxododecyl)amino]-1-propanaminium methyl sulfate is a polyester that has a number of applications as a fungicide, bactericide, and algicide. It inhibits microbial growth by blocking the synthesis of cellular components such as proteins and nucleic acids. Trimethyl-3-[(1-oxododecyl)amino]-1-propanaminium methyl sulfate also binds to the borate anion and forms a complex that causes the bacterial cell membrane to leak boric acid ions. Trimethyl-3-[(1-oxododecyl)amino]-1-propanaminium methyl sulfate has shown good resistance to high temperatures and is used in plastics such as filamentous fibers.
