Tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane acetate also stabilizes DNA templates for PCR analysis by preventing dNTPs from hydrolyzing prematurely. This prevents the formation of stable complexes with nucleotides, which may be useful in clinical pathology or plant physiology.
