Beschreibung

2,4,6-Trimethylbenzoyl chloride is an acylation product of 2,4,6-trimethylbenzoic acid. It is a nucleophilic compound that reacts with electron-rich atoms to form a covalent bond. This reaction can be induced by light exposure and has been shown to occur in the cell nucleus. The reaction mechanism was first proposed in 1975 by Kyowa and co-workers.
2,4,6-Trimethylbenzoyl chloride is used as a reagent in the synthesis of natural products and pharmaceuticals. It has also been used for kinetic studies on nucleophilic attack reactions.
