Beschreibung

1-Triethoxysilyl octane is a triethoxysilane derivative that can be used as a coupling agent for silica particles. It has been shown to provide better water permeability and chemical stability than the traditional 1,2-diethoxysilane derivatives. The reaction mechanism of 1-triethoxysilyl octane is thought to involve the formation of an alkoxy group at the terminal carbon atom, which reacts with hydroxyl groups in solution to form a hydroxyalkoxy group.
