Produktinformation
- a,a,a-Trifluorotoluene-3-sulfonamide
- 3-(Trifluoromethyl)Benzene Sulfonamide
- Benzenesulfonamide, 3-(trifluoromethyl)-
3-(Trifluoromethyl)benzenesulfonamide is a synthetic benzamide that inhibits the synthesis of leishmaniasis, a tropical disease caused by protozoans. It is also used as an analgesic and as a substitute for sulfones in medicines. 3-(Trifluoromethyl)benzenesulfonamide is a bioisostere of sulfones, which are substituted with trifluoromethyl groups at positions 2 and 6 on the phenyl ring. These substituents are less electronegative than oxygen, which makes them more chemically stable. This compound has high selectivity for inhibiting the benzamide metabolic pathway in Leishmania donovani cells, which leads to its antileishmanial activity against this pathogen.
