Beschreibung

4-(Trifluoromethyl)phenylacetic acid is a synthetic compound that belongs to the class of antimalarial drugs. It is an active compound, which binds to opioid receptors and blocks their activation by endogenous or exogenous ligands. The δ opioid receptor has been shown to be involved in the mechanism of action. 4-(Trifluoromethyl)phenylacetic acid can also inhibit the activity of farnesyltransferase, which is an enzyme that catalyzes the addition of a 15-carbon farnesyl group to proteins. This inhibition leads to decreased protein synthesis and cell death.
