Beschreibung

Tenuifoliside A is a natural drug that belongs to the group of neurotrophic factors. It has been shown to have significant cytotoxicity against cancer cells, as well as anti-inflammatory activity in mice. Tenuifoliside A has also been shown to increase the expression of response elements and energy metabolism in cultured cells. This compound also has an effect on locomotor activity when injected into mice. Tenuifoliside A may be useful for the treatment of HIV infection, as it has been found to inhibit viral replication and reduce viral load in infected human cells. The effects of tenuifoliside A are mediated by its ability to bind to a specific site on the HIV-1 RNA transcript called the TAR (transcription activator region).
