Beschreibung

Trans-1,4-Diaminocyclohexane is a colorless liquid that is structurally related to other amines. It can be synthesized by reacting cyclohexanone with ammonia and ethylene diamine. Trans-1,4-diaminocyclohexane has been shown to act as a potent antagonist at the NMDA receptor. It binds to the glutamate recognition site on the NMDA receptor and prevents ion flux, which inhibits depolarization of neurons in the brain and spinal cord. Trans-1,4-diaminocyclohexane also has been shown to have therapeutic potential for treating Parkinson's Disease.
