• Beschreibung: Triphenylmethyl mercaptan is a squaramide that has been shown to have immunosuppressive properties. It suppresses the production of collagen and other proteins that are needed for cell proliferation, leading to decreased cell growth. Triphenylmethyl mercaptan inhibits the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) by binding to the enzyme DNA polymerase and preventing its action on DNA molecules. It also has been shown to inhibit transfer reactions, a process in which an acyl chain moves from one molecule to another. This compound can be used as an anti-cancer agent due to its ability to inhibit growth factors by binding them through hydrogen bonds. Triphenylmethyl mercaptan can also be used as a structural probe for α subunit because it binds with high affinity and specificity.
