Beschreibung

Tetrahydropyran is a heterocyclic organic compound and an important precursor in organic synthesis. It is a building block for the synthesis of many other compounds. Tetrahydropyran has been shown to have significant cytotoxicity against cultured human colon carcinoma cells and human lymphoma cells. Tetrahydropyran also has synergistic effects with other drugs that are used for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, such as corticosteroids. Tetrahydropyran has been shown to have immunosuppressive activity in animal models, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of cytokines, such as IL-2 and IFN-γ. This substance can also bind odorants, which may be useful in developing new types of odorant binding materials.
