Beschreibung

Ursodeoxycholic acid is a bile acid that has been used for the treatment of primary sclerosing cholangitis and other bowel diseases. It is also used in the treatment of gallstones, liver disease, and to prevent liver damage from drugs such as acetaminophen. Ursodeoxycholic acid has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties by inhibiting signal pathways that are responsible for inflammation. This drug may be beneficial in treating inflammatory bowel disease. Ursodeoxycholic acid can be administered orally or intravenously, but intravenous administration must be done slowly to avoid an adverse reaction. Ursodeoxycholic acid is typically administered as a low-dose group with a rate constant of 3 hours.
