N-Vinyl-2-pyrrolidone is a polymer that is stabilized with kerobit. It is used in the production of propranolol hydrochloride, a beta blocker and antihypertensive drug. The FTIR spectroscopy showed an inhibition study on the polymer and propranolol hydrochloride. N-Vinyl-2-pyrrolidone has a phase transition temperature of around 100°C and undergoes a solid to liquid phase transition at this temperature. Laser ablation was used to produce solid dispersions which were then subjected to FTIR spectroscopy. Transfer reactions were observed when the reaction solution was mixed with human serum, which led to hydrogen bonding between the hydrophilic interaction chromatography and water vapor.
