• Beschreibung: Zanamivir is a neuraminidase inhibitor that is used to treat influenza, a viral infection of the respiratory system. It blocks the action of neuraminidase, an enzyme that destroys the protective covering of the virus and allows it to spread in the body. Zanamivir has been shown to be effective in treating symptoms of bladder cancer, including hyperactivity and kaposi sarcoma. This drug can also be used to treat endometriosis and cancer. The structural formula for zanamivir is C15H16N2O3S and it is a peptidomimetic. Zanamivir can be used as a treatment for polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometriosis, prostatic hypertrophy, and ovary cancer; this drug also prevents HIV infection by blocking entry into cells.
