Beschreibung

Zinpyr-4 is a synthetic, non-proteinaceous compound that has been shown to inhibit the production of tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and serum enzymes, such as dismutase activity. Zinpyr-4 has been shown to reduce neuronal death in mice with experimental aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH). It also inhibits cytosolic TNF-α synthesis in intestinal cells and interleukin production by human monocytes. These effects are due to its ability to bind and stabilize TNF alpha within its cytosolic compartment. The labile nature of Zinpyr-4 means that it is easily degraded by proteases and other enzymes in the body.
