• Beschreibung: Isoamyl Laurate is a food additive that is an ester of isoamyl alcohol and lauric acid. It is a colorless to pale yellow liquid with a fatty odor. Isoamyl Laurate has been shown to increase the bioavailability of drugs in humans when used as an oral absorption enhancer. It also has been shown to be effective in preventing light-induced degradation of nepeta cataria essential oils and for use in sample preparation for biochemical analysis. This additive has also been found to have antimicrobial properties against Lactobacillus acidophilus, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the growth of bacteria or its hydrophobic properties that prohibit bacterial attachment.
