Produktinformation
- Benzo[b]thiophene-2-carboxamide
- 1-Benzothiophene-2-Carboxamide
1-Benzothiophene-2-carboxamide is a potent antitumor agent that has been shown to inhibit the growth of human tumor cells in vitro. The compound is an aminopyridine and has two stereoisomers, 1-benzothiophene-2-carboxamide and 2-benzothiophene-1,1-dicarboxamide. The inhibition constant for 1-benzothiophene-2-carboxamide was found to be 0.38 μM in the same study. This compound also inhibits desulfurization pathways by binding to chloride ions and removing them from the cell, which may have implications for wastewater treatment. 1 benzothiophene carboxamide is a natural compound that can be found in a variety of plants such as genus "Solanum". Phytochemical studies have shown this compound to have antioxidant properties, which may be due to its ability to scavenge free radicals.
