Manganese (II) oxalate is a compound that contains manganese in its +2 oxidation state. It is an odorless white or off-white crystalline powder that is insoluble in water and soluble in methanol and ethanol. Manganese (II) oxalate has been found to be chemically stable at pH values between 1 and 9. The manganese ion that is present in this compound can be reduced to the +1 oxidation state by adding a proton donor such as hydroxide solution, which changes the color of the compound from white to yellow.
