Pyrrolidin-1-yl-acetic acid hydrochloride is a drug that inhibits the enzyme protease, which is involved in the replication of HIV. It also inhibits the enzyme piperazine, an essential cofactor for retroviral replication. Pyrrolidin-1-yl-acetic acid hydrochloride has been shown to inhibit insulin resistance and increase glucose uptake in animal models.
