Produktinformation
2-Amino-6-methyl-pyrimidine-4-carboxylic acid is a form of 2-amino-4,6-dimethylpyrimidine that is used to treat radiation poisoning. It is an efficient inhibitor of sulfamethazine and its derivatives, which are the most common drugs in this class. Irradiation has been shown to produce formic acid as a byproduct when it reacts with 4-nitrophenol. Formic acid can be converted into formate and then into formaldehyde, which can react with sulfate to produce sulfamic acid. This chemical reaction process converts 2-amino-6-methylpyrimidine 4 carboxylic acid into 2 amino 6 methyl pyrimidine 5 carboxylic acid.
