Beschreibung:
2-Phenylquinolin-8-ol is a ligand that binds to aluminium. It yields a low molecular weight product when coordinated with water. The ring-opening of 2-phenylquinolin-8-ol in the presence of lactide produces an amide. The x-ray crystallography revealed that the molecule has a mononuclear structure and the acidity is due to the formation of an acidic hydrogen ion.
