Beschreibung

2,3,5-Trichloro-6-methoxypyridine is an insecticide that belongs to the family of organophosphates. It inhibits the enzyme acetylcholinesterase in the nervous system and is used as a termite control agent. Trichloro-6-methoxypyridine has been shown to be toxic to humans and other mammals. Symptoms of poisoning include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, sweating, muscle twitching, convulsions, coma, or death. This chemical can also cause eye and skin irritation and respiratory tract irritation. Trichloro-6-methoxypyridine is not readily absorbed through skin or lungs but does accumulate in fat tissue. The main route of exposure for humans is through food contaminated with this substance.
