Beschreibung:
±-Hydroxymetoprolol is a stereoselective, hydroxylated metabolite of metoprolol. It is metabolized by the enzyme CYP2D6 and has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on human liver microsomes. ±-Hydroxymetoprolol is also found in human serum, rat liver microsomes, and urine samples. This drug is not active in acidic conditions, but can be detected at low concentrations in alkaline solutions.
