Beschreibung:UK-371804 is a toolbox prodrug that is designed to inhibit serine proteases. It can be used as a prognostic marker or as a drug to treat various diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular disease. UK-371804 binds to the active site of the serine protease and inhibits its activity, leading to decreased production of inflammatory cytokines. This drug has been shown in vitro to have potent anti-angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) activity. UK-371804 HCl has also been shown in vivo to inhibit plasminogen activator, which is necessary for fibrinolysis and blood clot dissolution. The enzyme, plasminogen activator, is inhibited by blocking its binding site on the surface of the endothelial cells with an integrin receptor blocker.
