• Beschreibung: AVE 0991 is a blocker of the angiotensin receptor type 1, which inhibits the binding of angiotensin II to its receptors. It has been shown to reduce infarct size and improve cardiac function in experimental models of myocardial infarction. Captopril, an orally administered ACE inhibitor, also has this property. AVE 0991 may be used for the treatment of thromboembolism and angioplasty as well as transluminal coronary artery intervention.AVE 0991 is a potent and selective blocker of the AT1 receptor that binds with high affinity to this receptor without affecting other receptors or tissues. The effects on cardiovascular parameters were evaluated in patients undergoing percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA). AVE 0991 significantly decreased mean arterial pressure (MAP) and heart rate (HR), with no significant change in cardiac index, stroke volume index, or ejection fraction.
