1-Isopropyl-1H-1,2,3-benzotriazole-5-carboxylic acid (1IPB) is a medicament that is used to diagnose diabetes and other diseases. It is a non-invasive diagnostic that monitors the concentration of 1IPB in the body fluid. This compound is also used as an anti-fibrotic drug to treat liver disease. 1IPB has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of acetyl-coa carboxylase and may be useful for treating nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, which is characterized by inflammation and fat accumulation in the liver.
