4α,8β-Dihydroxyeudesm-7(11)-en-12,8α-olide (4α,8β-DHED) is a natural product that belongs to the class of diterpenoids. It has been isolated from the plant Spicatus, which is found in Brazil. The chemical structure of 4α,8β-DHED is similar to chloranthus and eudesmols. 4α,8β-DHED has shown cytotoxic activity against cancer cells and antimicrobial properties against bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. However, it does not have any antiviral effects.
